Nightcliff bowler Mark Malogorski has won a bronze in the Pairs and narrowly missed a medal in the Men’s Fours at the 2019 Atlantic Championships held in Cardiff, Wales.
The Championships, held over two weeks from May 10 to May 23rd has competitors from 24 nations and is a qualifying tournament for the next World Championships to be held on the Gold Coast, Australia in 2020.
Mark Malogorski whose family originate from Malta, recently qualified to represent Malta in World Bowls events, gained his first opportunity at the Atlantic Championships.
Malogorski, who is a multi-capped Northern Territory State Representive for lawn bowls, and Northern Territory Police Officer based in Darwin, helped Malta qualify in the Men’s singles, pairs, and triples events, so there are plenty of opportunities for Mark to excell on the world stage in 2020. The team makeup for the World Championships will be selected closer to the event and Mark will be waiting anxiously to hear from the selectors.
